Houston City Council Member for District A

"City Council Update"

Amy Peck was first elected in 2019 and is in her second term as the Houston City Council Member for District A, representing over 220,450 people.  She also serves as the Vice Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Houston, and chair of the Public Safety Committee and vice chair of the Quality of Life Committee.

Peck has a long history serving Houstonians.  She has spent most of her professional career supporting District A in various capacities on both the State and City levels of government. Peck knows what it takes to find solutions, navigate complicated governmental agencies, and get results.

Peck received her master’s degree in counseling psychology at the University of Houston and did her internship at the VA Hospital in Houston where she counseled returning veterans and Vietnam veterans who suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

In addition to the master’s degree, Peck also holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Psychology and Government from the University of Texas-Austin.  Peck has the educational background and hands-on experience to help the community and is a life-long Houstonian dedicated to serving those around her.

Council Member Peck is married with two daughters and two dogs.
