Bradley Dennison, Vice-President of Board, The Beacon

Kelly Young, President and CEO Center for The Homeless

"Homelessness in Houston"

Bradley joined Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Downtown Houston in 2006 after six years in public accounting in Boston. He and his wife, Kimberly, have been married for 23 years and have a son and daughter.

Bradley began volunteering at The Beacon alongside some of his Merrill Lynch colleagues in 2015.  During his first shift in the Day Center’s Laundry, he quickly engaged with the men and women who were there to have their essential needs met. Eager to learn more, he returned for another volunteer shift with Kimberly, and they were soon recruiting colleagues and friends to not only serve but also provide hope to an extremely fragile population.

Since that first volunteer shift, Bradley has deepened his commitment to The Beacon and their clients by making regular financial contributions to the organization, chairing The Beacon’s annual Come to the Table fundraising event, and joining their Board of Directors in 2020.

Now, in his second term on the board, Bradley serves as the Chair of the Fund Development committee and was elected Vice President of The Beacon’s board this past January. Bradley has focused his efforts on examining the organization’s volunteer engagement practices as volunteers historically make up 60% of the organization’s workforce and are vital in maintaining regular service levels in the Laundry, Kitchen and at the In-Take Desk.

Kelly Young is the president and CEO of CFTH and has been with the organization since January 2024. Kelly helps guide CFTH’s overall mission and provides strategic leadership to manage the organization and navigate stakeholder relationships. Previously, Kelly served as CEO for Career and Recovery Resources where she helped break barriers for people experiencing substance abuse, underemployment, and housing instability. With over 20 years of leadership, change management, and organizational and program design experience, Kelly’s career has centered on building programs and leading organizations that serve vulnerable populations experiencing difficult social and health concerns. Originally from Oregon, Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Portland State University and a master’s degree in Managerial Sciences from Amberton University.
