Dan Parsons has dedicated more than four decades to protecting consumers and promoting ethical business practices in the Houston region. As President of the Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston & South Texas Dan leads one of the most prominent consumer trust organizations in Texas.

 

Dan's journey with the BBB began in 1983, and his ascent through the organization reflects both his versatility and commitment to its mission. Before being appointed President, he served in a succession of leadership roles including Director of Investigations, Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Government & Public Affairs, and Executive Vice President giving him a comprehensive understanding of the BBB from the ground up.

 

Before joining the BBB, Dan built his career in broadcast journalism, serving as News & Public Affairs Director at KODA Radio in Houston, with additional media experience in Pittsburgh. He holds a communications degree from the University of Houston and studied journalism at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. He is also a graduate of both the Council of Better Business Bureaus Executive Development Institute and the FBI Houston Citizens Academy.

 

Dan's anti-fraud efforts have earned national recognition, including the FBI Director's Citation for "Exceptional Service in the Public Interest" for his work combating telemarketing fraud. Professionally, he chairs the Houston Consumer Protection Group, a coalition of 20 fraud-fighting government agencies, and serves as President of the BBB Educational Foundation, Inc.

 

A 45-year resident of downtown Houston, Dan remains deeply rooted in his community. He has served as a Special Commissioner for Harris County Civil Court of Law #4 and as a former Grand Juror for the 179th Criminal District Court. Outside of his professional life, Dan shares his musical talents as a regular musician at St. Vincent de Paul, St. Theresa in the Park, and Holy Ghost Catholic Churches.


$30 meeting fee includes program, lunch*, tax & tip.

Business/business casual attire please.
Free parking in the restaurant's parking lot.
