Special Agent in Charge, Douglas A. Williams Jr. began his career as a Special Agent with the FBI in 2002 and was assigned to the Miami Field Office. During his tenure in the Miami Field Office, Mr. Williams investigated drug trafficking organizations, violent crime and organized crime.
In 2008, Mr. Williams was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) in the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) at FBI Headquarters (FBIHQ) where he worked in the National Gang Targeting Center. During this time, Mr. Williams completed a four-month TDY to LEGAT Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom where he investigated public corruption in support of the International Contract Corruption Task Force. In 2010, Mr. Williams transferred to the Special Operations Division at FBIHQ where he served as an operations SSA.
In 2011, Mr. Williams was assigned SSA of the Cincinnati Field Office, where he oversaw the violent crime, transnational organized crime and violent crimes against children programs. During this time, Mr. Williams was the Cincinnati Division SWAT Team Supervisor. In 2016, Mr. Williams was assigned as the SSA of the Cincinnati Division’s public corruption and complex financial crimes squad where he oversaw public corruption and complex financial crime investigations.
In 2016, Mr. Williams was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) of the Houston Field Office, Criminal Branch II, with oversight over the violent crime, transnational organized crime, violent crimes against children and civil rights programs.
In January 2020, Mr. Williams was promoted to Section Chief of the Office of Congressional Affairs (OCA) at FBIHQ. During this time, Mr. Williams led a team which managed all FBI interactions with Congress, advised FBI executive leadership on Congressional matters, and oversaw the FBI’s Congressional oversight and investigations response.
In May 2021, Mr. Williams was selected as the Special Agent in Charge of the New Orleans Field Office.
In December 2023, Mr. Williams was selected as the Special Agent in Charge of the Houston Field Office.
Prior to his FBI career, Mr. Williams served as a Police Officer for the Kenton County (KY) Police Department. Mr. Williams earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, KY and a Master’s degree in organizational management and leadership from Western Governors University.
