Nick Sawicki is the executive director of the Houston Public Library Foundation, which drives community and financial support for the Houston Public Library system—serving 2.2 million Houstonians every year.
Prior to the Houston Public Library Foundation, Nick worked for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston as the associate director for annual and major giving. Before coming to Houston, Nick served as the chief of staff of America Media.
Nick has previously served as a State Department Intern in the Public Affairs Division of the US Embassy to the Holy See; in the office of Congressman Brian Higgins; as the deputy director of development for the City of Lackawanna, NY; as a legal fellow for the District Attorney of New York; as a fellow at Fordham University School of Law's Center on National Security; and as a James Duffy Fellow on Faith & Culture at Fordham University.
An alumnus of Fordham University, Nick holds a BA in Theology and History as well as a Juris Doctorate. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at Rice University.
Nick serves as the advisor of external affairs to the Ambassador of the Order of Malta to the United Nations; holds board appointments to the New York Archival Society; the Curran Center for American Catholic Studies at Fordham University; the Development Committee of Congregation Beth Israel; and is the co-chair of the capital campaign for the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Nick is also an elected member of the Houston Philosophical Society.
Nick, his wife Emily, and their daughter Chava live in the Spring Branch neighborhood of Houston, TX.
$30 meeting fee includes program, lunch*, tax & tip.
